- CARNIVAL DAY
On Sunday 6th over 10,000 people flocked to Perth Concert Hall for the UNIMA 2008 Carnival Day. Children and adults of all ages were treated to hundreds of enthralling free puppetry shows, workshops and exhibitions. Over 200 artists from around the world performed throughout the day, including a miniature flea circus and a bicycle riding monkey, and the official Guinness World Record for the ‘World’s Largest Puppet Display’ was set at a huge 18585.
Big thanks to Lotterywest, Katherine McLean (Million Puppet Project Manager), Michael Barlow (Carnival Day Artistic Director), Danielle Micich (Carnival Day Manager), Zoe Atkinson (Million Puppet Exhibition Designer), Claude Markos (Designer), Sharron Custers (Production Manager), the countless volunteers and staff, people and puppets who made this day an enormous success!
Today is the last day to see the amazing Million Puppet Project exhibition in Perth Concert Hall, so if you haven’t already, get down there!
Opening hours: 10:00am – 3:00pm & 5:30pm - 7:00pm
After the Million Puppet Project exhibition closes, thousands of puppets will make their way to disadvantaged children across the world as part of the project’s wish to directly benefit children in need. A new relationship between the Million Puppet Project and non-profit organisation Peace Through Puppets will allow this ambitious dream to come to fruition. Click here to find out more
